ELI ALPS’ engineer Gábor Krizsán wins EDGE Challenge Cup Award

Apart from the traditional CAD/CAM software, the latest new generation, version 4.0 solutions were also presented by the Hungarian professionals. In line with the conference series, the EDGE Challenge Cup Awards were presented at the 2021 event, too. In the EDGECAM category, the award went to our colleague, Gábor Krizsán:

“In our research institute we design and manufacture the components of custom designed and made equipment – aluminium and stainless steel vacuum chamber components, mirror and lens holders, optical fine adjustment tools – with the help of different software. In the mechanical workshop, parts are produced on computer controlled machinery, and the tuning/milling programmes are developed using the EDGECAM software. This way we can automate certain work processes, and make the manufacturing of the instruments simpler and faster.

Each year, the Hungarian distributor of EDGECAM organizes a professional forum where the latest developments are presented and awards are handed out in various categories. The awardees are selected on the basis of the submitted entries. This was the second time I competed for the EDGE Challenge Cup Award. This year my entry was an automated algorithm, which brought me the first place in my category.”

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Gábor on winning the award!
