ELI-ALPS High Repetition Rate Laser system based gas high order harmonics generation beamline for gas targets (HR GHHG GAS)

ELI-ALPS High Repetition Rate Laser system based gas high order harmonics generation beamline for condensed targets (HR GHHG CONDENSED) – will be equipped with a time compensated monochromator.

The expected XUV output of these beamlines:

Frequency:

100 kHz

Photon energy range:

17-90 eV

Pulse energy:

1-15 pJ (in case of single attosecond pulse);

3-50 pJ (in case of train of attosecond pulses)

 

R&D activity

The group members are involved in the experimental R&D activity targeting to define the proper substrate material for the steering and focusing mirrors in the case of HR2 laser beam propagation inside the HR GHHG beamline system. The issue is brought up by the possible heat load of the 500 W laser beam on the mirrors.

The proper understanding of the processes during the high order harmonic generation demands to have as complete description of the laser pulse as it is possible. For this reason, the group members are working on different theoretical and experimental projects concerning the modelling and measurement of the spatial distribution of carrier envelope phase (CEP) and the different distortion.
